Leadership and Vision: Reflections from PETS 2024

Rancho Cucamonga President, Rick Gomez had the privilege of representing our club at the Presidents-Elect Training Seminar (PETS), alongside other Rotary leaders.

The seminar was an opportunity to deepen our understanding of Rotary’s mission and to connect with fellow Rotarians. It was a moment to advance knowledge and skills and set new goals and objectives for our club’s future development and success.

Take a good look at this photo to see next year’s President. Stephanie Ulrich is a distinguished member of the Rotary Club of McMurray, Pennsylvania, USA, and the nominee for President of Rotary International for 2024-25. She brings a vision of resilience and a focus on regionalization to lead Rotary in addressing today’s challenges and advancing service and peace.

Armed with new knowledge and goals, we’re energized for a successful 24-25 that will make a real impact in our community and beyond.

2023 Girl’s Tea

This year our event was held at a charming venue, ‘The Olde Magnolia Tea Room’, in Upland. Alta Loma High School, Etiwanda High School, Los Osos High School and Rancho Cucamonga High School counselors all selected girls to attend the event. The purpose of the event was for the girls to hear inspirational speeches from successful young professionals at a fun and memorable location. The speakers were young women who currently work in various careers such as fire service, law enforcement, journalism, dentistry, social work, and local government. The speakers shared about life experiences, the value of education and the importance of goal setting, despite the reality of possible failures. The girls were attentive and interacted well with the speakers all while they enjoyed their lovely afternoon tea treats. Ultimately, our goal is for the counselors, speakers and Rotarians to communicate with each other concerning the progress of each girl for the remainder of the school year, because they may need mentorship and additional guidance, in order to achieve their educational and career planning goals.

Celebrating Community & Fellowship: Highlights from the RC Rotary Signature Track Meet

The Rotary Club of Rancho Cucamonga partnered with Alta Loma High School to put on its “Signature” Track Meet on Saturday, April 8, 2023!

We hosted just under 300 students in 4th, 5th and 6th Grades from the surrounding Alta Loma School District.

The Track Meet began with its traditional “Parade of Athletes” around the track, the playing of our National Anthem and the resounding cheers from parents, family and friends!

The athletes competed in a number of track events including running, jumping and relays. The excitement by the athletes was tremendous and definitely shared by their parents, friends and family!

All the athletes shared such a fellowship with each other and the teams they were competing with. The laughter, cheering and excitement was simply contagious by all the athletes!
